What Is An Essential Oil?
Essential Oils are the fragrant essences of plants in their purest, most concentrated state. They are a source of great pleasure and give a sense of well being both to body and soul. An essential oil is a concentrated, aromatic liquid composed of small oil-like molecules. They consist of a complicated combination of naturally occurring chemicals which the plant itself produces through photosynthesis.
Essential Oils should never be put directly on the skin; instead they should be diluted in a vegetable carrier oil such as Sweet Almond Oil or Grapeseed Oil, or oil blend. They can also be used with a diffuser as a delightful way to scent a room, free of the dust or smoke that can be caused by incense. Essential Oils should never be ingested and most Essential Oils should be avoiding during pregnancy.
